This beautiful instrument, featuring Mother-of-Pearl inlay, is made with paulownia wood that has been naturally air-dried for at least 7 years. The design of its body structure is unique. The body board, made from paulownia (pao-tong) wood naturally grown in Henan Province, is hollowed out in the middle to improve sound quality. This process uses almost an entire tree for a single guzheng.
The back of the paulownia wood is engraved with sound grooves, and the acoustical resonator is strut-free to ensure unobstructed sound waves. The board's natural radian prevents distortion, resulting in clear, bright, and magnetic sound.
