Kayagum or Gayageum is the Korean version of the East Asian horizontal harp zither. The traditional ones have 12 strings made of silk materials. It is tuned into pentatnoic scale. The modern ones have 23 or 25 strings made of tetron materials. They are generally tuned in diatonic scale that are capable for playing western songs and modern compositions.
